It depends on your insurance company AND the circumstances of your claim.
Several car insurance policies include this as standard, but even with this included, there will still be circumstances when you are not entitled to one.
For example, if your car is a total write off, you will not be entitled to anything else in addition to the cost of replacement of the vehicle, from your own insurance company.
If the loss was incurred due to the car being burnt out, stolen, or in an accident that was your fault generally you won’t be entitled to a courtesy car.*
If you are the victim of an accident that wasn’t your fault, then things are slightly different, because you may be able to claim for your uninsured losses from the other party’s insurer – which generally includes the cost of a replacement vehicle.
If you are an existing Coversure customer with a claim, you can talk to our Claimsline department who may be able to organise this for you.
*Coversure have an excellent product called Theft Protect available for customers that can provide a guaranteed hire car, if your own car is written off due to:
- Theft, or attempted theft
- Fire damage
- Vehicle vandalism / criminal damage
- Vehicle interference
- At fault accident
